Harlington Hospice, an independent charity, has organised a spectacular display of amazing talent from around the world. On the bill for the night are:

Performances on the Night Include



SEBASTIAN STANLEY, the 22 year old English Pianist, was born in Spain and moved to England aged 4. He had his first piano lesson age just 13 and he currently studies at the Royal College of Music throughout his Masters Degree as a Michael Whittaker Scholar supported by a Douglas & Hilda Simmonds Award and the City Livery Club Prize. Sebastian's recent successes include winning the prestigious Emanuel Trophy, the prize for the ‘Best performance of a work by a British composer’ in the 17th International Haverhill competition, and winning both the Esther Fisher Prize and the Chappell Gold Medal at the RCM in July 2006. In 2004 he was the winner of the International Louise Henriette Competition for Piano in Oranienburg, Germany.

Recently, Bryce Morrison the famous critic for the Times and Guardian papers said of Sebastian’s Rachmaninov “The entire performance.....was a touching and exhilarating success”. John Lill, the world renowned concert pianist said of Sebastian’s Beethoven “.....exquisitely sensitive playing, deeply expressive”.

Future engagements in Sebastian’s coming year include; Recitals in Haverhill Arts Centre, St Martin in the Fields, The Brighton Festival, and Winchester Cathedral. He has also been invited back to play Rachmaninov’s 2nd piano concerto with the Harlow Symphony orchestra towards the end of 2007.

SONIDO FLAMENCO is formed from a group of enthusiasts lead by professional dancer and teacher, Sandra La Espuelita. Passionate about Flamenco - the traditional music and dance from Southern Spain, they meet regularly and perform at various charity, school, festival and other venues. Based mainly in East London and Essex, they welcome new people to the group and classes are held for all levels, from complete beginners upwards. The company members, which include an orchestra based in the Volta region of Ghana, have extensive experience in drumming and dance tuition, performance and choreography in Europe, Africa and the Caribbean. They provide fun, stimulating dance and drum tuition. Semekor is an Ewe work from the Volta region of Ghana meaning 'clean soul, clean heart'.
